The Northern Circuit Route is the longest and one of the most scenic routes to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro. It offers a unique trekking experience with stunning views, varied landscapes, and a high success rate due to its extended acclimatization period. This route approaches the mountain from the west, starting at the Londorossi Gate, and circles around the northern slopes of Kilimanjaro before converging with the other routes for the final ascent to Uhuru Peak. The duration of the Northern circuit route is typically 9 to 10 days, making it the longest route on Kilimanjaro. The extended itinerary allows for better acclimatization and a higher success rate.

The route offers unmatched views of Kilimanjaro, passing through diverse ecosystems, including lush rainforests, alpine meadows, and the arid, lunar-like landscapes of the summit zone. The northern slopes provide panoramic vistas of Kenya’s plains. The Northern Circuit is one of the least crowded routes on Kilimanjaro, offering a more remote and peaceful trekking experience compared to the popular routes like Machame or Marangu.
